  • potty training mommy

I am just sitting here on my lappy enjoying thursday night.  So I'm not a very good web surfer.  Probably a good thing, I'd probably get into trouble if i found good sales or something :)  hee hee...so i just keep checking my email accounts and dont' want to work on budget stuff...such a procrastinator!  so my sweet son has continued to amaze me once again...cooper has decided it is time...he is potty training himself! I honestly haven't done anything but let him watch a dvd called potty time with bear...bear lives in a blue house...i know this because coop tells me all the time :)  his first pass at it was a christmas conf when he walked right to the bathroom and told me he had to go.  he was adamant that i keep him on the toilet and then he went.  once he realized he would get an m&m everytime he went, he tried to just pee on the carpet and proceed to ask for one.  that didn't work so we are back on the potty.  i am just in awe.  yesterday we were out running errands and at home and three different times he took me to the potty!  what will he do next?  maybe he'll get online when i'm not watching and order pull ups!

  • here i am

yeah to all of you who are 'bringing xanga back' with me :)  i love it!  it will inspire me to write more i hope.  i'm pretty lazy when it comes to being on the computer.  life is so fun and full of energy and time with little coop man that it's hard to sit down and do anything until after 7pm.  the little man stopped napping at 19 months and so i've learned life without one...but still a little down time which is a sweet breath for me.  so my day consists of playing, stacking blocks, making towers, drawing snowmen and little boys and consistently picking up.  ha! coop will be turning 2 in march and i'm just amazed at how he already seems like a little boy!  we just gave him his first haircut last weekend...he did great! and looks months older!  here are some sweet pics of the little man.

these are before the haircut...he looks so cute with those curls!  i'm slightly sad we cut it, maybe i'll secretly let it grow and scott will never know, you think?

  • here we are...

Wow!  Bloggings can be really far between.  It's been a month and a half and i meant to blog Sept. 18th...I turned 29 this year...yes, oldness is setting in.  It was a great birthday and I decided overall to enjoy it and deal with 30 when it gets here.  I just thought it would take a little longer than this.
As far as Bugs go, my little bug is going to be 8 months old this thursday.  He's getting so big!  Crawling everywhere, and pulling himself up on everything.

This is Cooper on his 7 month birthday.
I may have distorted the picture a little bit :)  But I'll post updated pictures soon!  We had trick or treat tonight and he was the cutest cuddliest lion I ever have seen!  It was fun taking him to our neighbors and feeling like a kid again.  He's been sick for the last week and a half and the doctor finally gave him some medicine...so it's been an interesting time for me, he hasn't been this needy or clingy yet...I love cuddling with him, but I think having him sick and not being able to do anything for him was emotionally draining...but he's slowly getting better and hopefully by this weekend will feel great!  It's TOUGHCAT weekend!  I'm so excited...(my bible study from college...we've gotten together - this will be the 5th year - since college and it's so refreshing!  I love these women and how God has allowed us to be used in each other's lives life and love and truth and grace!
    night.

    Lessons from a baby

Cooper on our Labor Day weekend trip to the park.
It's been amazing lately to think of all the little things that I learn about life from my baby boy.  One is that snot is God's all-natural hair gel for mankind.  When Cooper wakes up after crying himself to sleep and his nose is a little runny, it's amazing what that runniness does for his hair.
Two nights ago we were having family time in the living room and Cooper - amazing baby as he is sitting up now!!! - likes to fall backwards...which makes us laugh really hard, and our entertainment center was right behind him so we were protecting him from hitting.  I was saying how it's funny that he just goes along with life and has no idea how he is protected so much from danger by us.  And then Scott said that it's so ironic because we have no idea how we are God is protecting us to from hurt.  I love how having Cooper reminds me so much of God's love for me and how He is right there, even when we or Cooper doesn't know that Daddy or Mommy is right there.

Scott is at the Cruhouse right now and then...the weekend!!!  I'm so looking forward to the Dueck's coming to stay with us before they venture off to Italy!!  They were on our team in Detroit and are "our homies" as scott and steve would put it.  Steve...cooper is looking forward to you reading him 'superman' comics when you come!

Ten more days until my birthday!!!!  I think it will be wild to think that this is the last year I can celebrate in my 20's.  I'm not sure what to think about it.   But since I LOVE birthdays, I'll just celebrate anyways!!!  Yeah for me!
